Copper Heat Conductivity: Why It Makes Pure Copper Cookware Superior

In order to look at copper and its heat conductivity, we can look at its thermal conductivity compared to other metals. Please note that this applies to real copper cookware ONLY and not copper-plated ones.

Pure copper has one the highest thermal conductivity of approximately 385 W/m.K at room temperature. Right behind silver(406 W/m.K), copper's superior heat conductivity makes it an excellent candidate as home cookware, water heater, cooling pipes and computer heat sinks. Adding other types of metal to copper such as brass or tin does lower its heat conductivity significantly.
