If you honor the hands that make something, the piece will honor every hand that uses it.

– Jonathan Beall

Living History

Celebrating 30 Years of Sertodo Copper

In 1997, Jonathan was hauling loads of copper in his truck between Texas and Michoacán Mexico, chasing an idea that good tools should carry the soul of the people who make them.

Out of those long drives and long nights at the bench came Sertodo Copper, a small Austin workshop dedicated to turning recycled copper into pieces that feel as honest as the hands that made them. Today, Sertodo’s hand‑hammered pans, cups, and water vessels are part of everyday rituals in kitchens and homes around the world, each one bearing the visible marks of the hammer instead of the polish of mass production.

Elevated Craft

Celebrating 30 Years of Sertodo Copper

At Sertodo, a small team of artisans has invested decades of hard work, scars, and patience into mastering copper.

Where big retailers ship out nameless pots by the truckload, Jon stays close to the work—talking customers through care, adjusting designs in response to real‑world cooking, and insisting each new piece matches the standard of those forged years before. Elevated craft wrapped in a humble, approachable attitude is the through‑line: the work is refined, but the people behind it remain grounded and accessible.

The Texas & Mexico Connection

Celebrating 30 Years of Sertodo Copper

Sertodo’s community has grown organically around that spirit. Conscious home creators, culinary craftspeople, and holistic homesteaders are drawn to copper that does more than look beautiful on a shelf. They want performance they can trust, materials that align with their values, and objects that can be used hard and still be passed down. Thick‑gauge, repairable construction, thoughtful proportions, and honest communication about care all reinforce the feeling that these are working heirlooms, not delicate display pieces. Jon’s choices reflect a deeper commitment than simple product features. Using recycled copper and time‑tested techniques respects both the environment and the traditions that inspired Sertodo in the first place. The connection between Texas and Mexico is woven into the brand’s DNA—honoring the artisans, suppliers, and communities that make this work possible and approaching every relationship with the same integrity that guides the craft itself.
