Although the size and shape will work beautifully for polenta, I bought it just for jam! I christened it with the first rhubarb (and some strawberries) of the season and plan to keep the party going all summer long. It's a gorgeous show piece as well. I might even stick a bottle of champagne and ice in it ;-)

What a lovely preserving pot! I find it both beautiful and very useful. It accommodates most of my recipes with beautiful heat distribution. If you plan to make jam, you need one of these.
